Zan made this video last week and I love it! A great example of unschooling creativity. It stars Zan, two of his friends and right at the end Mr T comes in for a front flip!
No one told Zan to make a video, no one made him learn how to use the computer programs, no one made him do any of this but he did it because it was fun. Now if you wanted to you could disect the project into key learning areas. For example this video might cover computer skills, art, design, music etc, but we don't need to do that because that is not what is important to me. What the most important aspect of this is that Zan had FUN and while he was having fun learnt heaps about something that interests him.
It's called Nitro Tramponatics.
Enjoy...

Picking the beads...
The jobes Tears I planted are finally ready! Today Mr T and I picked them off the bush. There weren't as many as I thought because the chickens had been out and had a little peck at them...or rather a big peck...we only got a handful. We planeted a couple so next year we will get more and tomorrow we are going to make a braclette out of the remaining ones.

Mungbean (that's the man formally known as Peace- his new name that he came up with all by himself...what was he thinking!?!?!?!?) started replacing the front door this week.
It has been rather a long project, with new year falling in the middle and then a couple of days of rain, but now it is almost done.

I'll post some photos when it's done...hopefully tomorrow as MB goes back to work next week!
Tui recieved sooo many pretty little dresses for xmas, so I'd better start showing some of them off!!!

And one of Rain, because she is staying at her cousins house and I miss her!

And Zan got back from his Dad's house yesterday. He had a great time over xmas and the new year so here's a photo of him levitating above the new trampoline!!!

Here's a photo of the tarp covering the hole that was a door!

The biggest trampoline in the world...
We had an early christmas picnic lunch at the beach today with my family. I'd never been to Kings beach before. There is a beautiful salt water swimming pool near the beach and heaps of rock pools to explore. Also a large fountain-thing which the kids can play under (but looked strangely like a communal bidet. Maybe that's just my warped mind!)
And a bungy trampoline.
It was good to hang out with Mum, Dad, my sis and her new boy friend (what a gentleman...running to carry things for her, very nice and good looking too!) My brother wasn't there. He is in Paris with his boys and wife visiting her family, so they were probably rugged up while we were all splashing around.
Zan is going to his fathers house for christmas, he's leaving tomorrow so this afternoon we exchanged gifts.
The kids loved their new trampoline. Mr T has dubbed it the biggest trampoline in the world!
Tui watched as they assembled it...
They already had a trampoline but it was damaged in a storm we had last year....more like a mini tornedo than a storm actually. The wind picked the trampoline up and blew it 50m across the yard into a tree, so it has to be propped up to be stable. We thought about just replacing it but then I saw these really big ones. It's 16 feet (4.8m)...well I do have four children!
They spent the afternoon assembling it and even now after dark they are outside bouncing around.
