There's a Circus in my house
Last week the kids had their last circus classes for the year. I know they will miss going there over the holidays. The classes are so much fun, the teachers great and they love seeing their circus friends.
Mr T is especially excited about circus classes next year. He has been asked to join the kids performance crew. So he will be going to circus twice a week and doing longer classes.
But even though they will miss the classes they are still practising at home.
For Christmas I made them a trapeze. It is made from 20mm galvanised plumbing pipe, a couple of elbow fittings, some high strength tow rope and cycling handlebar grip tape.
Peace came over and with his rock climbing expertise rigged it safely to the roof beams.
We didn't want to wait til Christmas to put it up!
So it now hangs proudly in the lounge room alongside the Tissu Rain got for her birthday.
| Tama's just been hanging around alot lately. |
All we need now are a couple of clowns... oh, I think we have them already :)

I am amaed at how great they are, how much they have leart in just six months.
The kids performances were great and we were also treated to a guest performance by a guy who was in the Siberian Circus which was amaing!

Let it rain
It's been raining all week and I now have a tank of water! Oh I love the rain.
I love that when it rains it's a great excuse to do crafty/ inside things. The kids have been construcing cubbie houses in the lounge room, doing heaps of reading and snuggling by the fire and watching DVD's.
We have been busy too. Monday we went to a homeschoolers French class.Tuesday was Rain's birthday.
Thursday night we went to see the Circus Out of Africa. Amazing acrobatics!
Yesterday Rain and Mr T went to a homeschooling group craft meet up and did some papier mache.
I've been crocheting some baby longies, they are not quite finished yet but I have been sewing a bit this week. I wanted to make a pattern for a frilly, girly, floaty kind of skirt, it worked and I love this new skirt I made myself.

A tissue, a Tissu
Yesterday it was Rain's birthday. We went out to lunch in Byron Bay.
I can't believe how quickly twelve years have passed and how big my beautiful daughter is now.
Eleven years ago, on her first birthday all she wanted was a box of tissues. She sat there and pulled every tissue out of the box and amused herself for ages.
This year she wanted a Tissu. Aerial silk, or ribbons are her favourite par of circus classes. o after researching the types of fabric I bought her the material, and Peace being an abseiler/ rockclimbing instructor bought all the safety rigging.

Off to join the circus
The kids have all joined the Circus!
Luckily they haven't run off to do it but have started circus classes in a town nearby our new abode.
Rain and Tama had their first classes on Monday and Tui started today.
They are all so excited to finally be able to do Circus.
Rain loves the trapeze and Tissu, Tama loves it all. And Tui had such a great time today.

Best thing of all they also do adults circus classes. So after a lifetime of threatening to run off and join the circus I finally am.

Circus skills
Rain has been practising lots of circus skills lately. I wish I had got a video of this. She can now do five hula hoops at once!
She has also been practising on her unicycle everyday. She got it a year ago and has never really learnt to ride it properly but she decided last week to practice everyday for as long as it takes to be able to ride it. Already after a week she can ride it a couple of meters without stepping off.
Hopefully soon I'll have a videa of her zooming around on it!
Mr T and I have been practising hand stands and cartwheels today too. I showed him a one handed cart wheel and straight away he launched into one and pulled it off perfectly.
Then this evening he has been doing acrobalance with P.
We'll be able to start our own family circus soon :)
