Getting crafty

I've been wallowing a bit lately. I guess you do that when you face change, there is always a quite period before you find the energy to pick things up and move on. Well, I'm not quiet at the moving on stage yet but I am trying to treat myself nicely and do things that make me happy.
Today the kids went to Peaces house for the night. Tui only goes for one night every two weeks because she is still breast feeding and even though she misses her Dad she misses her boobies more!
And for the first time that I've had time to myself, it was actually a sunny day. And Sun = Solar Power. So I had free time and electricity!!!

I've discovered that making things makes me happy.

Today I cut out a few sets of pixie pockets to sew up.

I've partially completed them...let's hope it's sunny again tomorrow!

A couple of weeks ago when I was reading a homeschooling forum, a woman had posted a link to these amazing crochet bunting.

They are just so amazing and bright and colourful I immediately felt happy just looking at them.

So I decided to make my own Happiness Flags. I love how crochet can be meditative, but it is also a great oppurtunity to practise affirmations...instead of counting stitches I repeat, I am happy, I am at peace... so my flags will hopefully be imbued with a million happy thoughts!

Here a my first few.

Did you have a pattern for the crochet bunting?

Just worked out a patern from looking at the pics, May not be exactly the same!
5 chains, joint in a circle
3 trb, 1 ch three times.

Next row, three trbs, 1 chain twice in each chain space.
(Change colour)
Then keep working rows doing three trbs, one chain in the sides and three trbs one chain twice in the corners.

Sorry if that isn't too clear, just doing it off the top of my head. I'll try to write a proper pattern in the next couple of days :)

thank you so much for sharing your own pattern :) I'd love to do a massive amount of them to decorate the play room and the patio when we move into our place.
