Market Day

We went up to the Crystal Waters Market today. It's such a nice spot.

While P and I had a Chai...

Tui got stuck into the organic pumpkin sourdough bread...

It's a lovely soft for the kids to hang out, with a couple of play areas...

and a trampoline that is dug into the ground.

P bought me this book...do you think that means he thinks I'm a witch?

and I bought some yummy raw honey.

This afternoon we have been in the garden picking three kinds of lettuce, rocket, mint, parsley, radishes, beetroot, sweet corn, zuchinis, brown onions and three types of tomatoes.

The first eggplant will be ready by tomorrow and the pumpkins are getting huge. I love the abundance in the garden at this time of year. Now I'm off to make some yummy dinner out of all that fresh goodness!

Prepare for a ramble

You may have noticed I haven't been posting as often lately. Well there are multiple reasons. Firstly my borrowed computer s so old and slow and the keyboard misses letters so it is so frustrating to type anything. My camera has died...:( but luckily I moved into the 21st century an got a mobile phone so I can still take some pictures...the quality is a bit bad though.

The other reason I'm not around here as much is general busy-ness. We have had WWOOFers to organize and we are getting ready for our Winter Solstice Market Day. I don't know what I was thinking when I stared to organise this... There is advertising, stalls, food, entertainment to arrange...the list is endless. BUT hopefully I'll achieve my aim of generating a space for local People to come together to trade and have fun.

I've been crocheting a new blanket. It's not a very clear photo but you can make out the colours at least!

We made these yummy stuffed chapatis for lunch yesterday. Mr T was enjoying his so much he had to take a picture of it.

Tui has been teaching herself to climb...

And gardening mulching paths with sawdust, picking heaps of squash and purple beans, eggplants (still!) and the broccoli are almost ready...yummy!

Today's Harvest

Yesterday was another hot one... another swim and another storm. We went to the river and played about in a canoe.

Today more gardening. After many attempts we finally have a productive garden. Peace planted out the newest bed...

and we picked the first of the capsicums and eggplants.

Tui was looking a bit concerned about the size of this marrow! Somehow we missed this Zucchini under the leaves and it has grown to massive proportions. It was a bit big to eat but the chickens enjoyed it.

My brother brought this shopping basket up for me so I can take it 'shopping' in the garden...




I love the logo on the side...very appropriate...


Then to the kitchen to turn all that 'fresh food' into dinner (and a nice cold beer while I cook)
