The Mad Hatter

After re-watching Alice in Wonderland recently I was inspired to make some dress up costumes.

Tui got this Alice outfit made from a couple of old sheets.

I then had a try at hat making. I have never made a hat before and it was a fun process, researching how to do it on the internet and then sourcing materials. and improvising materials I couldn't find.

I am pretty pleased with the finished hat.

Tui has actually claimed it as 'hers', she prefers to be the Mad Hatter than Alice. And it does look very cute on her.

She wore the hat to town today.

We've been playing dress ups heaps lately. So I bought some new face paints this week. While I'm hardly a professional the kids loved their geisha and zombie faces.

6, 7, 8, 9 hang your bloomers on the line.



Today I decided to sort and store all the fancy dress costumes. So I rounded them all up and thought they could all use a wash before packing them away.

It was such a strange load of washing on the line I had to take photos.

I love the bright colours and bold patterns in all these old '70's fabrics.

But right in the middle of the washing and the folding and the sorting I had a visit from three very odd visitors.

 So I invited them all in for afternoon tea.
