Australian National Rainbow

We just got back from two weeks at the Australian National Rainbow Gathering. It is still going now but unfortunately we could only spend two weeks there.

It was held in this most amazing valley in the Wollemi National Park. Peace took this photo when he climbed up the gorge one day.

A closer view of the valley and the camps.

The kids all had a great time. There were a couple of other unschooled kids running around and they all had so much fun being able to play with other kids all day everyday. Somedays I hardly even saw Mr T and Rain. The sence of family and community is amazing. The Rainbow tribe feels so right!

The kids and I made some faerie crowns.

A Rain faerie and a Littletree faerie...

I got to spend a little bit of time with the most amazing, gorgeous, wonderful Majikfaerie. But it wasn't enough.

Mr T and Peace went exploring the nearby ruins of an old mining site.

Tui and I crossing the Capertee creek.

Tui and a teepee...

I'll have to post more photos another time. I took hundreds:)

What fun! Going to rainbow is one of the to-dos on my list.

Can you please tell me how to make a fairy crown? I really want to wear one at my blessingway in Dec, but have never tried it before...

Hey Sazz, It's definitely worth going to a Rainbow. To make the faerie crown I just twisted vine around in a circle the right size and then kept wrapping it around itself until I'd gone around the circle three times. Then we just tucked a whole bunch of wild flowers into the ring. Pretty simple but they looked so neat!
