Hot Squashed Buns
Well I tried to make hot cross buns. I got up early and made the dough, let it rise, kneeded it twice, put them in to bake ...and then we ran out of gas.
We don't have a spare gas bottle so luckily a local shop was open (nearly every shop is closed on Good Friday) to get some gas, rush home and keep cooking the buns.
But in the interim they had saddly deflated a bit.
But everyone still ate the lot with heaps of butter and mums stawberry jam and agreed that although a little flat they still tasted good!
