We lay down heaps of wet cardboard boxes to help supress the weeds coming back.
Covered the whole lot with sugarcane mulch and planted a couple of new plants. A ground cover I only know as pig weed. It is succulent and has beautiful redish/pink flowers. The other was a Dianella, a native grass with edible blue berries...yum.
I picked some coriander seed for sowing and cooking...
while Tui explored the grass...
feeling all the new sensations with her cute, chubby little hands...
Oh, and I just loved this photo of the cows in the shade down at the river...

Where you live is absolutely stunning! As for Tui, she looks good enough to eat! (this from a 20 year vegi!)I love chubby hands, the only things better are gorgeous baby feet - i'd like to point out here that i don't have a foot fetish, once they go into shoes, start to get whiffy and are no longer baby feet i can't stand them! - so here's my xmas request, pics of your little ones tootsies please!
Whats wrong with Peace? I loved that name. No-one got a choice down here I just picked what I felt like at the time, mind you that was two years ago and Dinoboy is kind of growing out of his name! LOL!
Tui is adorable, everytime I visit and see her little face she makes me smile!
Where are you beautiful hippymummy? I've missed you.
To Ms. Ariad
You are heartily welcome to by blogspace.
I liked the photos you have posted, especially the photo of the little little hand !!!!
[About your comment in my blog] Your observations about the parental relationship is quite honest.
Sometimes, especially when children live in hostels for study, the experience is little bit different. Some people become very homesick, while others love freedom from the very first moment. But they do not speak their heart to their parents. and vice versa.
